KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday granted an extension in t
he former provincial minister Sharjeel Inam Memon’s interim bail.
A two-judge bench, presided over by Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah, heard the cases aga
inst Sharjeel Inam Memon.
The petitioner’
s counsel informed the court that his client was ready to face the allegations in court and but he was worried that the National Account
ability Bureau (NAB) may arrest him.
On the occasion, the NAB prosecutor – opposing the extension in the interim bail of Sharjeel – argued that one reference aga
inst Sharjeel was registered and the bureau was enquiring two more references.
Upon unsatisfactory replies by the Bureau’s prosecutor, the court granted t
he former ministeran extension in the interim bail.
