KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday declared Rafiq Qureshi, a Sindh Police man as a national hero.
He intercepted a suicide bomber in Shikarpur, suffered serious wounds in the ensuing blast and passed away at a hospital. In a statement the PPP chairman paid tribute to Rafiq Qureshi for his gallantry, who risked his own life to save hundreds of others at the Eid congregation in Khanpur Town.
Bilawal asked Sindh Government to announce compensation for the family of Shaheed Rafiq Qureshi and also ensure free education and health facilities for his entire family. He also sympathized with the family of the martyr and assured them that the PPP and its government would not leave them alone.
