ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday approved promotion of 35 bureaucrats to grade-22.Syed Imran Gardezi has been appointed federal secretary for information, broadcasting and national heritage, while Nusrat Iqbal Jamshed of Commerce and Trade Group has also been elevated to grade-22.
Gardezi is currently working as director general of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. He is a senior officer of the Information Service of Pakistan. Gardezi served as press secretary to the prime minister, principal information officer, director general of the External Publicity Wing, general manager of the Pakistan International Airlines, minister (press) at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, high commissioner in London and press attaché in Hong Kong.
Others who were promoted include Javaid Jehangir and Shagufta Khanum of Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service, while Muhammad Naeem, Syed Ibne Abbas, Naghmana Hashmi and Syed Abrar Hussain of Foreign Service were also promoted.
From the Inland Service, Raana Seerat and Rukhsana Yasmin have been promoted. The prime minister also gave approval to the promotion of Nisar Muhammad Khan and Rozi Khan Burki of Pakistan Customs Service.
Four officials of the Police Service of Pakistan also got promotion including Sheikh Naseemuz Zaman, Shaukhat Hayat, Lieutenat Cdr (r) Ihsan Ghani and Squadron Leader Muhamad Iqbal.
The prime minister also approved the promotion of four officers of Secretariat Group including Abdul Jabbar Ali, Abdul Malik Ghauri, Aamir Hasan and Dr Nadeem Shafique Malik.
Fifteen bureaucrats of the Pakistan Administrative Service are also among those who got promotions in grade 22 including Syed Abu Ahmad Akif, Tariq Masud, Shujat Ali, Muhammad Hummayun, Pir Bakhsh Khan Jamali, Shahid Mahmood, Khalid Masood Chaudhry, Muhammad Abid Javed, Mohsin S Haqqani, Aijaz Ali Khan, Muhammad Siddique Memon, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Zahid Saeed, Arbab Muhammad Arif and Hassan Iqbal.
